This flat 10km race route embraces Reading's waterways for much of the distance, offering a wonderful, multi-surfaced course that takes in rural, modern and historical areas of the town and surrounding countryside. Friendly atmosphere for beginners, yet a fast course for those who want to try for a 10km PB!
Superb spectator-friendly start and finish by the river, with refreshments available. As well as the 10km main race, there will be 1km & 3km fun runs covering all age groups, so bring the family! Plenty of free car parking
On the meadow in front of the Oracle HQ - look for the Purple Patch gantry! If you are arriving on foot/bike, the address is: Thames Valley Park, Reading, RG6 1RA
The race car park is at RG6 1RA. Please note we will be parking in the Oracle 550 office car park. Please do not park anywhere else. Once you have parked, you will be directed to the start, which is a five minute walk away
Race packs should be picked up on the day between 07:30-8:45 from Race HQ. Desks close promptly at 08:45 Late Entries: We will be taking entries on race day between 07:30-08:45. Please go to the “Late Entries” desk in the Race Village in plenty of time to register and pick up a number & chip. Late entries have a surcharge of £3. Desks close promptly at 08:45
Secure your race number securely to the FRONT of your running top using four pins. If you have a medical condition that will need consideration, please mark the front of your number with a cross and write details on the back. Race numbers must not be passed on to another runner
Your chip will be on the back of your race number – be sure not to tamper with it in any way or your time may not be recorded. Do not worry if your chip number does not match your race number!
The baggage drop will be at the Start/Finish area from 08:00. You will be given a baggage tag when you pick up your race pack, which should be attached to your bag before taking it to the drop.
The race takes you from the water meadow, around the nature reserve before heading in to Reading and back along the banks of the Thames and Kennet & Avon canal. Please be considerate to other users. Please take care when running on the towpath.
The fun-runs will use part of the 10k route and are all on grass & trails Marshals: Marshals will be stationed along the route at strategic points – please comply with instructions given by the marshals Kilometres: The route will be marked with kilometre markers
There are toilets at the start/finish area and also inside and outside the Wokingham Waterside Centre, adjacent to the start area
There will be a water station at halfway, at the 5k point. There will also be water at the finish. If you require water prior to the race, please bring a bottle with you
The presentation will take place at approx 10.15am.
Each finisher (in 10k/3k/1k) will receive a medal commemorating the event
