Lovely point-to-point race from Cowley Recreation Ground, Uxbridge along the Grand Union Canal to Cassiobury Park, Watford.
A flat, scenic, unusual, multi-terrain course. Traffic-free apart from one minor road crossing.

When: Sunday 7th April, 2019 at 10:00 (To avoid congestion, runners will be released in waves several minutes apart. Your wave will be communicated to you in the week leading up to the race)

Registration: From 08:30 to 09:45
Race Numbers: For collection at registration on the day only, numbers will not be posted. To be fastened to the front of your top using safety pins provided at registration, your number should be visible at all times. Your timing chip is attached to the back of your number and should not be removed
Route: A multi-terrain route using mainly canal towpaths. Suitable for runners of all abilities. Please always be vigilant of other runners, spectators, dogs, cyclists and other users of public footpaths and rights of way
Bus Transport: As this is a point-to-point race, you can choose to park at the finish in Cassiobury, Watford and take the bus provided to the start – before the race only. Once you've finished the race your car will be there waiting for you. £8 per seat, to be booked at point of entry
Spectators: : Lovely start & finish areas for spectators. Cassiobury Park at the finish is a wonderful park with big open spaces and café for spectators. Follow the Grand Union Canal between Cowley & Watford on any map and you will find road crossings, etc, where you can catch the runners as they pass through. It is quite possible to drive to one or more points along the course and still get to the finish in time
Licensing: This race will be registered with the Association of Running Clubs (ARC)
Pacers: Pacers will not be offered at this race
Bag Drop: Whilst we recommend bringing as little as possible, you can leave your belongings with us at the start venue while you race using the tear-off baggage strip on your race number, collecting after you finish by presenting your race number. Bags will be taken from the start to the finish for you
Toilets: There will be temporary toilets at the start & finish venues. There are no race toilets along the route
Race Marshals: Marshals will be present on the course throughout the race
Distance Markers: The route will be clearly indicated with arrows, tape and Mile markers
Water Stations: There will be 4 water stations on the route at (approximately) Miles 2, 4.7, 7.5 & 10.5. Water will be provided in recyclable plastic cups
Goody Bag: All runners will receive a goody bag on finishing the race
Refreshments: Coffee, snacks & refreshments will be available at the finish
Changing/Showers: There will be no changing or shower facilities at this race
Lost Property: Lost property from an event will be kept for one month. If unclaimed, or ownership cannot be determined, lost property items will be donated to charity.
Photography: Race photography will be provided, a link to which will be sent out in the post-race communication
Results: Results will be uploaded live to our website (internet connection permitting) and, where possible, timing print-outs will be available at the race. In all cases, results will be communicated to all pre-registered participants within 24 hours of the event
Medals: All finishers will receive a medal on completing the race
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top three runners overall and the top runner in each of the veteran categories (V40/V50/V60/V70) for both males and females. Where possible, we will endeavour to present individual race prizes as soon as confirmed on the day

Buggies/Pushchairs: This race is not suitable for runners with buggies/pushchairs
Wheelchair Users: This race is not suitable for wheelchair users
Earphones/Headphones: Noise-cancelling earphones/headphones are prohibited and whilst we discourage the use of other earphones/headphones at this event, participants choosing to use them should ensure they are set to a minimum volume such that instructions from marshals or other race officials can be clearly understood. We reserve the right to disqualify participants who cannot hear instructions as a result of their use
Event Time-Limit: Whilst there is no strict time-limit for this race, in order that we adhere to the restrictions imposed by the venue hire agreement, it may be necessary for us to begin deconstruction of the finish area after approximately 3 hours to facilitate the removal of all equipment from the premises by the agreed time.
