Maidenhead Half Marathon

Dorney Lake, Court Lane, Off Lake End Road, Dorney, Windsor SL4 6FJ

Online entry for this event has now closed. Entry on the day will not be available.

The Maidenhead Half Marathon is moving to Dorney Lake for 2021 to ensure this special 10th anniversary edition can go ahead safely.

Due to fewer runners as running events return from pandemic restrictions, this year’s event is below the runner number threshold required to justify closing local roads with the inconvenience this causes for residents and businesses in our community.

Our friends at Dorney Lake have stepped in and we're thrilled that for this year only, the special 10th anniversary edition of the Maidenhead Half Marathon will take place on their superbly scenic, fast and flat course, with a slightly later start time than usual.

The celebratory atmosphere will be relocated to the perimeter of Dorney Lake, and the special souvenir medals, race bibs, training and fundraising will not go to waste.

Parking at Dorney Lake is free, and spectators are welcome throughout the course. Food and drink will be on sale at the Dorney Lake Cafe and mobile catering truck.

Join us at Dorney Lake and help us to keep the spirit of the Maidenhead Half Marathon not just alive but thriving in challenging times and ready to return to its usual setting in 2022.

Club Competition

Make your club the pride of the Maidenhead Half!

Our club competition is a chance for club glory with a huge cash prize up for grabs by all England Athletics affiliated running and athletics clubs. Every runner counts.

Points are awarded for every club registered finisher - with bonus points for runners placing in the overall top 10, or age categories from V40 up to V70+ - so whether you bring your fastest flyers or mob Maidenhead en masse, your club could be crowned Maidenhead Half Club Champions 2021.

We all know we run better when we run with our mates - get your club involved and make sure each of your runners includes club details in their entry.

Participants must include their club during the registration process or ensure it is updated through their profile prior to midday on Thursday 2 September 2021. For consistency and validation, club names should be as officially recorded by England Athletics, a list of which can be found here (updated as of July 2021). It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure the club details they provide during registration are accurate.

All participants will be allocated 1 point for completing the event with additional points awarded, as detailed below, for both female/male participants.

Overall - 10pts for 1st, 9pts for 2nd, 8pts for 3rd2pts for 9th, 1pt for 10th

Veteran categories* (V40, V50 V60, V70+) - 4pts for 1st, 3pts for 2nd, 2pts for 3rd

*Categories will be determined using a participant's age on the day of the event. Any points available to a participant in a veteran category, where they have also placed in the top 7 overall, will roll to the next position in their respective category.

A cash prize of £300 will be awarded to the highest scoring club, which will be notified within a week of the event (where a presentation is not possible on the day and/or once results are considered final).

In the event of a tie-break, the prize will be awarded to club represented by the highest number of finishing participants. This competition is open to active members of England Athletics affiliated clubs only.

Further details will be communicated by email on Thursday 2 September.

Entry on the Day will not be available at the event.

This event will be Licensed with UK Athletics (UKA) and the results published by Run Britain shortly after the event.

COVID-19 Mitigation

These measures, together with other Covid-related requirements at our events, may still be in place and/or be subject to revision in response to any change in the current public health guidance issued by the government or regulatory bodies.

NHS Test and Trace may still be in operation at our events. Participants may be required to complete a health declaration prior to arrival and to check-in where possible using the NHS COVID-19 app (available to download in advance for iOS or Android). Any information obtained will be held for 21 days after an event only and will not be used for any other purpose. Participants may not be permitted on site if they fail to follow this process, the full details of which will be communicated prior to each event.

One-way navigation and social distancing signage may be present on site to facilitate adherence to official guidance. Queue markers should be observed at all times and sanitisation stations used as frequently as necessary.

Unless there have been any changes following communication of the final pre-event information, there may be no event briefing on the day. Participants should read the communication thoroughly to familiarise themselves with the event format.

This event is expected to start at 11:00 for all participants, with the start line remaining open for up to 15 minutes to allow those who would like more space to socially distance to do so separately.

Once finished, participants should continue moving and follow signage and marshal directions to keep the area clear for other finishers. Any post-event rewards (medal, water etc.) may be self-service (following hand-sanitisation) to ensure there is no contact amongst staff and participants.

Participants are asked to review the UKA Participant Code of Conduct - and spectators the UKA Spectator Code of Conduct - prior to their arrival.
