Duxford Dash

Join us for this brand-new, chip-timed and safely distanced 5K and 10K run at IWM Duxford, Europe’s largest air museum, on Sunday 13 September.

This flat and fast route takes place within the RAF base and is perfect for all abilities, including fun runners and beginners. The start line will be open from 9.30am - 10.30am for the 10K, and from 10.30am - 11.00am for the 5K. The single route is 5K and is completed twice for the 10K event.

Race past world-famous aircraft on the course, take in a century of aviation history with every kilometre and conquer the runway used by Spitfires and Hurricanes during the Battle of Britain!

The Duxford Dash takes place on the site where men, women and aircraft fought in the Battle of Britain 80 years ago. Mark this special anniversary year with this unique race and tread the same ground as Britain’s pilots during the Second World War.

Adults: Ages 16 and over

Children: Ages 5 to 15

Children under the age of 5 need not register and will be admitted at no charge.

Entry: Participants, spectators with tickets and children under 5 can enjoy free museum entry so you can have your very own squadron there to cheer you on.

Finisher’s Medal

Everyone who completes the Duxford Dash will each receive a unique medal to take home.

All Day Access

Once you’ve crossed the finish line, your race entry admits you to stay and explore the entire museum for free for the rest of the day.

IWM Duxford is Europe’s largest air museum with over 300 aircraft and objects on display. Get up close to Spitfires and Hurricanes; see a portion of the original Wright Brother plane; walk through Concorde, feel dwarfed by the size of a B-52 and stand in awe of Europe’s only SR-71 Blackbird – the fastest jet ever built.

Learn about the role the site played during the First and Second World Wars and hear the stories of those who took part in key battles such as Dunkirk, D-Day and the Battle of Britain. See live conservation in action and watch restored aircraft take to the skies from the historic airfield.
