Getting back to racing from April 2021

With the announcement of the UK Government roadmap on 22 February, we're so excited to plan for the return of running events.

Our first events expected to return:

Saturday 3 April - Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10K Info & Enter

Saturday 17 April - Thames Valley Spring Duathlon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K at Dorney Lake Info & Enter

Sunday 18 April - Loseley Park Trail 10K & 5K Info & Enter

Sunday 18 April - Dorney Lake Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Info & Enter

Followed by events every weekend throughout the rest of the year.

How certain are we that events will go ahead?

Similarly to last August when the first national lockdown was eased, we're expecting events to return with COVID-safe measures in place.

Here's what's happening right now to confirm the details:

  • We're awaiting guidance from governing bodies, Run Britain (England Athletics) and British Triathlon. Their brilliant teams are working on new licence rules for organisers, expected in the week commencing 22 March 2021, or shortly after
  • That updated guidance will confirm the COVID-safe conditions that have to be in place at all events until further notice - it will include things like scheduled arrival windows, waved starts, self-service rewards zone and some restrictions on spectator gathering
  • We'll work with each of our venues to confirm COVID-safe event site plans and any changes to event day schedules
  • And then finally and delightfully, we'll announce new events day-by-day on our social channels, website and in fortnightly emails to our mailing list.

If you ran at an event in the period August - November 2020, expect much of the same for events in April and May 2021. Gradually, we're expecting those restrictions to be further eased through stages 3 and 4 of the roadmap, so that eventually mass starts will return.

Don't forget that if you enter an event that is postponed or cancelled, you'll always be able to move your entry to any of 150+ events in the next year.

Our team are working flat out to be first out of the starting blocks to get you safe, brilliant event experiences, in the best places, on the soonest possible dates. We can't wait to see you.

In the meantime, use our Run March resources to keep up your training and get race ready for PB glory in April.
